I liked the film but clearly didn't love the film, there is enough here to watch but it's ultimately flawed.

A modern adaptation of one of the greatest twentieth-century novels. Ross is clearly going for a stylish sense of Slavic ennui, but there's a fine line between that and completely aimless. 'Siberia' is a disaster that goes sinking until it reaches a point where you get uncomfortably upset. I adore Keanu Reaves, but this movie simply doesn't work, the main actors are good, but the rest of the storyline and cast is virtually no-existent. The mysterious case reveals disturbing police corruption and a dangerous secret involving an unlikely young woman. With a narrative as bleak as the landscape not even the magnetic presence of Keanu Reeves can save this one. All rights reserved.
