A noted blockbuster in France, "The Intouchables" is an inspiring, funny, sappy, true-to-life tearjerker that works mostly due to the charismatic performances of Omar Sy and Francoiz Cluzet, whose excellent chemistry helps the film overcome some of its downfalls.
The Intouchables will touch you in the most unimaginable and unforgettable ways.
- Until Eliot Ness and a small force of men swore they'd bring him down. And not to compare bagels to croissants, but I think the television series "Suits" did it much better in the giving somebody a chance department.
And there are a lot of other nice touches, like Capone's hotel headquarters and the courtroom where his trial is held.But even the good use of sets and locations is undermined by Brian De Palma's curiously lead-footed direction - curious, because he is usually the most nimble and energetic of directors.

During the era of Prohibition in the United States, Federal Agent Eliot Ness sets out to stop ruthless Chicago gangster Al Capone and, because of rampant corruption, assembles a small, hand-picked team to help him. Connery brings a human element to his character; he seems to have had an existence apart from the legend of the Untouchables, and when he's onscreen we can believe, briefly, that the Prohibition Era was inhabited by people, not caricatures.What's good about the movie is the physical production itself.

| Brian De Palma chews off too much for his characters that sometimes comes off as a bit slow and downer for the audience especially when the script is wafer thin.

Most of what Driss does in this film is inappropriate and very un-PC, but the character is charming and the dialogue is coaxing, making this a very interesting film in of itself.
Gene Hackman does great work as a politician at the center of the scandal and critics called this a star-making role for Costner who was just breaking into the leading man roles. Interesting piece all around; check it out. He doesn't know his partner is … We won’t be able to verify your ticket today, but it’s great to know for the future.Regal
